The President Award for Excellence in Triad Outreach and Education aims to acknowledge outstanding efforts to translate Triad-related research outcomes to the field, which aligns with the mission and vision of the Coalition and serves as an essential element of optimizing the health and well-being of athletes and physically active individuals. It is designated specifically for an undergraduate student, graduate student, post-doctoral trainee, sports medicine fellow, or recent graduate that has provided an exceptional level of service to promote outreach and education of the Female and Male Athlete Triad.

Amount: 1 award of $200

Criteria:

1) Eligible applicants for the award include current undergraduate or graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, medical resident or fellows or individuals that recently graduated (within one year) from any of the listed academic programs.

2) Applicants’ student status must be verified by a faculty advisor.

3) Applicants must be regularly engaging in impactful outreach and/or educational activities that promote topics related to the Female and Male Athlete Triad.

4) The outreach and or educational activities must be focused on the translation of evidence-based information related to the Triad to health practitioners, other professionals working with athletes, or athlete or physically active individuals.

5) The outreach and or education activities must not be part of a research study.

6) The awardee must attend the Female and Male Athlete Triad Coalition meeting.

7) The applicant must submit an award statement including a summary of the activities they have engaged in over the past year to promote outreach and education of the Triad (limit 300 words). Up to three samples of educational or outreach materials may be submitted.

8) The applicant may also submit one Letter of Recommendation describing the applicant’s specific contributions and impact of those contributions in providing education and outreach of the Female and Male Athlete Triad (optional).

2) Applications must be received by Monday May 1st 2024 at 5pm EST.

3) Applications are reviewed by the Triad Coalition research and awards committee and the winner is notified by the President.

Presentation of the award is made by the current president of the Coalition to the student at the Female and Male Athlete Triad Coalition meeting.
